GAN creates their first outdoor collection with the famed Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola
GAN is probably most known for their colorful rugs and seating arrangement, but now they have decided to launch one of their first collections for the outdoor area. The collection named 'The Garden Layers Collection' is designed by the famous Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola, who also designed a collection of vases and steelware objects for the Danish heritage brand Georg Jensen, was inspired by her recent trip to India, where she experienced the Mughal culture and architecture up close.
The way Indian beds and tables were gathered in courtyards together, to create comforting living areas, inspired her to create a collection of textile accessories. Garden Layers is a collection of rugs, mats, roll pillows, cushions, Indian bed and side tables that can be arranged in many different ways, creating infinite possibilities for the outdoor living.
Gardens, terraces and miniatures ignited her imagination, inspiring a new collection which, from the very first moment, intended for gardens and outdoor spaces.
The oriental influence in this collection is obvious in the way it invites the user to lie back, relax and be comfortable on the rugs and mats, among roll pillows and cushions.
