Local Ingredients at London Restaurant Lyle's
The chef James Lowe, who ran The St. John's kitchen before launching Lyle's, still celebrates local ingredients from small UK producers. The style is gently inspired by his participation in 'The Young Turks' collective, that also included other notable chefs from the area.
Lyle's Restaurant is located in The Tea Building - Shoreditch, also hosting Shoreditch House, The Cowshed Spa, Pizza East and several advertising and PR companies. He favors a set menu of seven courses at £39, changing nightly - depending on seasonal availability. If one might wish to decide their own menu, choose lunch instead of dinner, where several dishes are available to choose from.
The interior is light, simple and slightly Scandinavian in appeal - with industrial touches and a 'Kinfolk' like ambiance. The presentation is artistic, colourful - breaking the surrounding neutral palette. A similar experience in character as 'The Clove Club' restaurant also situated in Shoreditch.
