Futuristic brand, LOEWE has returned to Salone Del Mobile - The annual furniture fair hosted in Milan, to showcase their graphic home decor. Led by creative director, Jonathan Anderson, the project gives an insight into the ancient technique of marquetry. Tapping their primary colour palette of bold yellows, reds and blues, the Spanish brand exhibited leather cut-outs which have been transferred to wooden surfaces, archival prints and graphic greatness that had a main vocal point on fish. The three-dimensional objects which include, chairs, lamps and folding screens, took inspiration from English painter and critic, Roger Fry, evidently seen through the delicate 1920's references of the furniture. The collection also took innovation from the Japanese Edo era to retro pop art, merging the different periods to create graphic greatness.
Although the furniture is merely used for eye candy purposes, the leather pouches and the notebooks which both have the same graphic of a rose and a fish, are available to purchase. Celebrating it's 55th year, The Salone del Mobile exhibition will be running from April 12th-17th in Milan.
