The Jar Nuts Piece by Henrik Vibskov
The Jaw Nuts Piece
The Danish designer Henrik Vibskov, known for communicating fashion using thought-provoking art installations, often inspired by social issues, showcased his latest collection 'The Jaw Nuts Piece' in Copenhagen, February 2016.
He is one of the few danish designers, who showcases his collection in Paris during Men's Fashion Week, and he is applauded for his approach of delivering fashion in an artistic otherworldly concussion of experimental installations. He has a clear vision of deconstructing clothes, combining graphic elements, that often includes sonic installations in awestricken fashion show experiences. He is not the typical fashion-show type though - the experience is much more ethereal, and it does make the audience think about the message, rather than watching a line of garments dribble down the runway. This is definitely not a show focused on famous instagram models or shimmery connotations.
Henrik Vibskov is also a vivid drummer, and had an experimental percussion device, the length of the catwalk, set to deliver a maximum impact of noise and 'chatter' via walnut-like puppets. 'This collection is about how we don't communicate', commented the Danish designer.
He used a mix of patterned anecdotes to deliver a colourful printed message of unisex garment. It is also a clear feeling that the audience is not just there to see his garments (they are often comparable to his other collections) but the overall universe and feel of '..What does he come up with next.'
